Aegis Online Development


Aegis Online has been in development since August of 2017. The first build was cobbled together in just a couple of days for a game amongst friends. After a few months of improvements and games, we thought maybe other people would like it too!

Version 5.0 ~ Alpha


This update brings only one new feature, automatic file transfer. It's shaky, but it works! The long term goal of this feature is to make it easy to modify the game, and have all those mod files automatically be sent to anyone who joins your game. Models, textures, scripts, saved creatures, maps, music, anything you use to make the game your own, can be sent automatically to your friends. Right now the basic framework is built and is functional.

To use it you will need to make and modify a campaign file, and make sure your friend trying to join the game has a campaign file with the same name and settings. Host the game with your modded files, and have your friend load the campaign with the same name, and try to join the game. All of the new files should transfer. The client trying to connect can press the tilde, or the key behind the 1 on the number line, to bring up the console and see how many files are left. The campaign and settings will also transfer in the future, along with bug fixes and better error handling.
